DR gives US tough time in men’s basketball

The Dominican Republic ended up in fourth place in men’s basketball in the Pan Am Games in Toronto, Canada. The team almost defeated the US, losing 87-82 after a holding a 48-35 lead at halftime. The Dominican squad seemed to tire during the fourth quarter when the US team surged ahead, out-scoring the Dominican Republic 28-14 down the stretch. Brazil claimed the gold, Canada the silver and USA the bronze.
