The Office of the Attorney General has released the third edition of the book on highway accident indicators in the Dominican Republic during 2014. The author, Mario Holguin, stresses that in 2014, there was a decrease of 3.3% the rate of accidents compared to 2013. In 2014, there were 1.3 deaths for every 100,000 inhabitants.
Holguin explained that the decrease is due to several factors, including the positive impact of the public investment in highway infrastructure, the startup of the two new regional trauma centers and the 911 Emergency System.
