The Police reported on Sunday that it has identified the suspects in the assault to the Banco Popular bank branch at Av. Gregorio Luperon in which the watchman was murdered.
The robbery took place on Thursday, 30 July 2015.
The 34-year old watchman, Sabino Mendez Martinez, was killed. The robbers made off with RD$1.8 million and US$2,276 in cash, as well as the gun of the watchman. The crime occurred at around 12:30pm.
The suspects are 22-year old Ezequiel Guzman Brito; 35-year old Pedro Pablo Puello and 34-year old Jeison Baez Garcia. All are fugitives from justice. As part of the investigation, the authorities have arrested 20-year old Delbison Burgos Santana and Ingrid Monroe.
After the arrest of Burgos, some RD$223,000 in cash was recovered as well as a gold chain and ring that Monroe had purchased at a pawnshop for RD$43,300.
A surveillance video showed that Deibinson and Guzman Brito entered the bank and killed the watchman before fleeing with the stolen money.
The Police reported that Guzman Brito had been previously prosecuted on four occasions, including twice for homicide.
As reported in El Dia, another suspect Joel Starlyn Sosa, turned himself into Antena Noticas 7 of Antena Latina.
