Antonio Taveras, president of the Association of Industries of Herrera and the Province of Santo Domingo (AEIH) described the deficiencies in the power distribution system in the country as very serious. He said this was evident with the total collapse the system suffered with the distant passing of Tropical Storm Erika. Taveras criticized the lack of investment, maintenance and managerial capacity to give timely and efficient answers to situations.
