The National Committee Against Money Laundering (CONCLA) has announced the sale of eight apartments, seven plots of land, a house, two motor vehicles and a watch for a total estimated value of RD$86.8 million, some of the assets that were confiscated in several money laundering cases to be sold at public auction on 30 September 2015.
In a press conference held at the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) headquarters yesterday, Monday 31 August 2015, it was announced that proceeds from the sale would go to the State.
The apartments include five in the National District plus two more which belong to Jose David Figueroa Agosto in the Alco Paradisso tower, also in the National District.
Seven plots of land and a house in Bani, Peravia province and an apartment belonging to Rene Sinclair in the National District will be auctioned, relating to the Peravinter remittances company case.
In addition to the properties, the vehicles up for auction are a Land Rover and a Mercedes Benz, both of which belonged to Figueroa Agosto, and his Audermars Piguet watch valued at over US$37,000.
