The Central Bank reports that it is keeping its monetary policy rate unchanged at 5% per annum as economic performance continues with acceptable levels of inflation, business activity and general domestic macroeconomic factors, as well as international factors.
Inflation for July 2015 rose to 0.5% with an annual accumulated rate by the end of the month reaching 0.85%. This is still below the range established by the Monetary Program for 2015.
The Bank said that the monthly indicator of economic activity (IMAE) was at 6.4% to June and private loans grew around 11% in July.
Overseas conditions, with the decline in the price of crude oil, are still favorable. The Central Bank also reports increases in tourism, remittances and industrial free zone activity.
The positive growth in main industrial economies continues, with 2.7% in the USA during the second third of the year and the Eurozone growing by 1.2%.
The dollar has shown a tendency to appreciate during the last year, strengthening other currencies such as the euro, the Japanese yen and the UK pound.
