Dominican contemporary art in Berlin

On the occasion of the annual celebration of the Berlin Art Week from 15-20 September 2015, nine Dominican contemporary artists will be exhibiting at the Torstrasse 161 Art Gallery in the German capital. The “All Inclusive” exhibition, which will be open from 18-24 September, is curated by Dominican diplomat Rafael Perez Concepcion.

Perez says the exhibition presents a lesser-known Dominican Republic, which departs from the stereotype images of idyllic beaches and all-inclusive resorts. He says it is a traveling exhibition that seeks to contribute to showing the Dominican identity to the world.

The nine artists taking part are Gustavo Pena, Marcos Lora Read, Raquel Paiewonsky, Lewis Forever, Patutus, Soraya Abu Naba, Yuri Leonardo, Oscar Bello and Yolanda Naranjo.
