The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and the Judicial Branch Council (CPJ) have carried out a study that rejects the recently passed Law 140-15 on Public Notaries and consider it has articles that need to be changed or revoked. The president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Mariano German Mejia, said that the new law contradicts the natural purpose of the notary public and does not meet the current requirements of Dominican society.
