Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta has announced that President Danilo Medina will attend the 70th session of the United Nations in New York City on 25 September 2015 and speak about world poverty. Pope Francis will also be giving a speech at the UN that same day.
On another matter, Peralta denied that the government had awarded the contract for the Agua y Luz Theater to PRD president Miguel Vargas Maldonado in order to develop a commercial center and hotel.
He also denied that the government has granted tax exemptions to 375 provincial and municipal party members in the eastern region for the purchase of luxury vehicles worth around RD$700,000 each.
