A small PA32 plane, registration N36401 en route from the Bahamas to La Isabela International Airport in northern Santo Domingo, made a forced landing on the Duarte Highway at 3:15pm on Saturday, 19 September 2015. The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) said the surprise landing caused huge tailbacks.
The two occupants of the plane were uninjured. News reports said that the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing because the plane was running out of fuel.
