Brugal CEO Augusto Ramirez and Virginia Cabral Arzeno, president of the Brugal Foundation have announced the winners of the annual George Arzeno Brugal Awards for social development organizations.
This year the Asociacion La 37 por Las Tablas from Santiago and the Fundacion Casa de la Cultura de Consuelo from San Pedro de Macoris shared the RD$2.5 million grand prize of the 24th Brugal Cree en su Gente (Brugal Believes in the People Awards) held at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo yesterday evening, Wednesday 7 October 2015.

The winners of the grand prize also won in the Art and Culture category. In the Social Welfare category, Fundacion Hospital General El Buen Samaritano from La Romana received an award. Santiago volunteer group Jesus con los Ninos won in the health category. In Education, the Instituto Agronomico y Tecnico Salesiano from La Vega won. In community development, the Centro de Investigacion y Educacion Popular (CIEPO) from La Descubierta, Independencia (Jimani) province received an award.
Sociedad Ecologica de Barahona (SOEBA) received the award for Defense and Protection of the Environment.
