Some rain, but no respite from heat

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says that temperatures across the country will remain high, reaching between 34°C and 36°C and maximum humidity levels of 70%.

Onamet said that the combination of a high-level trough over the Windward channel and the local effects will bring rainfall to Monte Plata, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui), Samana, Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris), La Vega, Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), Dajabon and Santiago Rodriguez.

Scattered showers are forecast for the northwest, Los Haitises and central areas. On Friday, 9 October 2015 a low-pressure area is expected to reach the southeast of the country bringing a tropical wave that is likely to increase rainfall. Local forecasts are for some showers and high temperatures, especially in the National District and the province of Santo Domingo.
