The Migration Agency says it has deported 4,850 undocumented Haitians since 14 August 2015, an average of 250 illegal immigrants a day. Haitian nationals are the largest foreigner group of deportees, which also includes Cubans, Peruvians, Iraqis, Colombians, Dutch and other nationalities.
Migration director Major General Ruben Paulino Sem says that the deportees were foreigners who had been living in the country but did not register under the 18-month National Foreigner Legalization Plan (PNRE) that expired in June 2015.
