Enthusiasm at the renewal of tourist activity is overflowing in the city of Puerto Plata as a second major cruise ship comes into port at what is now called Amber Cove, in Maimon Bay today, Thursday 15 October 2015. The Carnival Fantasy will arrive at dawn carrying 2,675 passengers and more than 900 crewmembers. The passengers will have about eight hours to enjoy the North Coast tourist attractions. Reviews from passengers on the first cruise ship on 6 October 2015 were mixed, with praise for the top 10 shore excursions, criticism of the high cost of the taxi service and the small number of stores open at the Amber Cove Cruise Center.
