The Dominican Republic Center for Exports and Investment (CEI-RD) reports that the Dominican delegation at the Produce and Marketing Association of the United States’ Fresh Summit Convention and Exposition (PMA 2015), the largest international convention of fruits and vegetables in the Americas, has signed contracts for US$39 million, according to El Nuevo Diario.
Jean Alain Rodriguez of CEI-RD, who headed the Dominican delegation, said that the Dominican participants presented the wide range of exports available. The fair took place from 23-25 October at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rodriguez said that the exhibitors included producers of Chinese vegetables, cucumbers, pineapples, chayotes, plantains, bananas, herbs, aloe, cassava, tomatoes, coffee, bell peppers, habanero peppers and other products. Groups from Jarabacoa, San Pedro de Macoris and Villa Gonzalez attended the fair, together with representatives of the clusters and farming associations that were exhibiting their products.
