Dominican Johnny Cueto pitched a stellar two-hit complete game for the Kansas City Royals last night, 28 October 2015, allowing only one home run in game 2 of the Major League Baseball World Series. The Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets 7-1. In the 9th inning, Cueto received a round of applause from Royals fans among the more than 40,000 present at Kauffman Stadium.
The Kansas City Star reported that Cueto retired 15 batters in a row after giving up a run in the fourth.
The third pitcher to open for the Royals in game 3, to be played in New York, is fellow Dominican Yordano Ventura. Game 1 was won by Dominican Edwin Volquez.
