One of the greatest Dominican bachata singers of all time, Zacarias Ferreira, was close to becoming another traffic death statistic when he was involved in an accident last week on the Duarte Highway. After surviving a horrific accident, Ferreira filmed a video in which he stresses the importance of wearing seat belts. He said that buckling up saved his life.
The vehicle was totaled, but Ferreira only suffered minor injuries – primarily caused by the air bags that opened at impact. He was treated at the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago.
