New Reservas branch in Punta Cana

The Banco de Reservas, the Dominican government owned commercial bank, has opened a fourth branch in Punta Cana, the leading Dominican tourism destination.

The bank’s general administrator, Enrique Ramirez Paniagua, said the amount of money allotted to tourism ventures has increased and now stands at US$230 million from September 2014 with another US$200 million still in the process of evaluation. He added that the money is to be used for several different construction and remodeling projects as well as land purchase for future projects.

The new branch is located in Punta Cana Village. Other BanReservas branches can be found in Bavaro, the San Juan Shopping Center at Palma Real and at the Cruce de Veron.

Ramirez Paniagua said that the bank’s loans to the tourist sector have increased from December 2014 to September 2015 by 85.3%, and deposits for the same sector over the same time period had also increased by 71.1%. Personal business deposits in the eastern region have grown by 33.62% and now stand at RD$10.6 billion.
