The region’s largest animation studio is being set up in Juan Dolio, a 40-minute drive from Santo Domingo. Lantica Media and AG Studios are working together in association with Mexico-based Anima Estudios. Antonio Gennari of Lantica Media and Alex Garcia of AG Studios announced that the facility would be set up at the Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, a Lantica Media company.
As reported in Variety, the first project Lantica and AG Studios are considering are feature films based on the “Leyendas” (Legends) franchise, using Caribbean legends for the stories.
