Irregularities in Dario Contreras Hospital remodeling

The Procurement Department has established that the Office of Supervisory Engineers of the State, a division of the Presidency, violated the public procurement procedures in the remodeling and equipping of the Dr. Dario Contreras Trauma Hospital. As reported in Hoy, it was established that there were irregularities in the increase of the cost of the construction by the contractor Consorcio Proyecciones Luxor from RD$886.5 million, the tender cost, to a RD$1.7 billion final reported cost. The contract accepted a maximum cost increase of 25%. As reported, the OISOE requested the approval of the additional cost to comply with formal requirements 12 days before submitting the cost modification for 91% more. By that time, the total allocations had already been executed.
