Aging Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez commented yesterday, Thursday 12 November 2015 that the government should talk to the nation more often. He says the President needs to improve his communication with the people. The Cardinal, who is the head of the Roman Catholic Church in the Dominican Republic, said that Medina is the country’s leading authority and his guidance is always necessary. “He should talk always,” said the cardinal. He said he was convinced that Medina’s words would have a calming effect on the people.
He asked the Minister of Public Health for more measures to fight dengue and criticized some judges for releasing people who have committed proven crimes.
