UASD professors return to work

After a 72-hour work stoppage following the Constitution Day long weekend, state university professors have announced their return to work today, Friday 13 November 2015. They rejected proposals for an indefinite work stoppage in demand of wage increases and better conditions. They argued that a strike would affect thousands of students with only a few weeks left before the end of term. Representatives of the Federation of UASD Professors’ Associations (Faprouasd), which led the protest, expressed disappointment at the government for backing private universities when the needs of the UASD have not been fulfilled.
