Electricity Pact making progress

Minster of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo and Economic and Social Council (CES) chairman Monsignor Agripino Nunez Collado have outlined the methodology for implementing the negotiation phase of the Electricity Pact.

They said that the discussions that were held in September and October had ended with 82 areas of consensus and 28 of partial consensus.

The second stage of the process has been scheduled for the end of the year and there will be meetings twice a week. They said that they were convinced that the process would help to resolve the problems affecting the electricity sector.

Energy and Mines Minister Antonio Isa Conde, CES Executive Committee members, Roque Felix from Centro Bono and Rolando Guzman from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo and others also attended the meeting.
