Pedestrian bridge for Privada crossing

The Ministry of Public Works has started to build a pedestrian bridge over the Av. 27 de Febrero and Av. Presidente Antonio Guzman (Privada) for increased pedestrian safety. Road works recently eliminated a traffic light, and this has made it difficult for pedestrians to cross the main city intersection. The underpass that replaced the traffic light has given priority to vehicular traffic at the expense of pedestrians, say local residents.

The Ministry says that the Odebrecht-Grupo Estrella construction partnership, which was responsible for the underpass construction, will build the 44-meter long bridge in 90 days.

Diario Libre has been highlighting the dangers that the new underpass has created for pedestrians in the area.
