45 business clusters help development

The National Competitiveness Council (CNC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have presented the results of the Technical Assistance Program to Back Competitiveness Policies that has benefited 45 clusters throughout the country. The program also supported initiatives with innovation in bio-fuels, construction, improvements in food processing and production, footwear and beauty, and farming industries.

A total of 16 agribusiness projects received RD$139.7 million in support, 15 tourism projects received RD$109.1 million, and 14 manufacturing projects. The report was presented by CNC deputy director Laura del Castillo, and Belgica Nunez who heads the program that is now in its 10th year.
