After receiving nominations in 21 categories, Juan Basanta’s thriller “La Gunguna” won 18 awards during the La Silla Awards ceremony presented by the members of the Dominican Association of Professionals of the Movie Industry (Adocine) on Wednesday evening, 18 November 2015. La Gunguna won the best film, best director, best actor (Gerardo Mercedes) best script and best supporting actress awards. Nevertheless, the award for best actress went to Geraldine Chaplin for the film Sand Dollars.
The award for best comedy went to Jose Maria Cabral’s “Detective Willy.”
The ceremony, produced by Tuto Guerrero, took place at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo.
