The Judicial Branch Council (CPJ) has announced the suspension of judge Juan Antonio Lazala Bautista of Constanza for irregularities. His case had been under review since 22 June 2015. He is the seventh judge to be suspended this month. The others are Efrain Silva Mercedes, Jose Duverge Mejia, Roso Vallejo Espinosa, Victor Mejia Lebron, Awilda Reyes Beltre and Delio German Figueroa, in addition to resigning former member of the Judicial Branch Council, Francisco Valera.
It is known that in many of the cases involving these judges, complaints had been submitted to the judiciary since 2012, but no action has ever been taken by the Supreme Court of Justice.
