Miguel Tejada has been appointed as manager of the Aguilas Cibaenas, with hopes of leading the team to qualify for the semi-finals by the end of December 2015. Tejada said he is optimistic that his changes will make the difference and put the team’s poor start firmly behind them.
He will be following in the footsteps of Winston Llenas, Miguel Dilone and Tony Pena who were pivotal in the team winning the country pennant on 20 occasions.
Tejada’s first day on the job was for yesterday, Sunday, 22 November 2015’s exhibition game in Miami, Florida. The Aguilas won their first game 4-2 against the Tigres del Licey and on Sunday they played Venezuela’s Cardenales de Lara in the Americas Series taking place at Los Marlins Park.
