No agreement between PRSC and PLD

In a press release, the PRSC announces that it has not been able to reach an agreement to form an alliance with the PLD in the 15 May 2016 election. The PRSC was instrumental in the PLD winning the Presidency in 1996, but has lost many followers in subsequent years as the members of the party practically merged into the PLD. Ramon Rogelio Genao, who coordinates the discussions for the PRSC said that the three months of talks had failed. Genao accused the PLD of violating what had been agreed. He said an agreement was now “practically impossible.”

As reported in Diario Libre, PLD electoral commission coordinator Lidio Cadet said that the PRSC were asking for too much.
