Former deputy for the National District and first Minister of Energy and Mines, Pelegrin Castillo has announced he will run for president on the Fuerza Nacional Progresista (FNP) ticket. “We, like many others here and abroad, believe that our Republic and its institutions are under threat more than ever in our history. There is a need for the political forces to be reconstituted to achieve balances and counterbalances,” he stated, upon accepting the candidacy for the party founded by his father, lawyer Marino (Vincho) Castillo.
