National Budget on track for approval

Senate president Cristina Lizardo says that the proposed changes to the 2016 National Budget recently sent by President Danilo Medina would be discussed today, Wednesday 25 November 2015 and it was likely they would be accepted without changes. The PLD holds the majority in both legislative houses.

Lizardo said that the proposal, which was submitted by the Executive Branch, had been sent to the appropriate committees.

The Executive Branch have increased the budget by nearly RD$4 billion for 2015 with increases of RD$2.2 billion for the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and RD$1.4 billion for the Ministry of Public Works for road construction and progress on the second line of the Santo Domingo Metro.
