Dominican comedian chosen for NBC series pilot

NBC is scheduled to premiere ‘Vlad’, the first-ever Dominican family comedy starring stand-up comedian Vladimir Caamano. It will follow in the footsteps of popular TV shows featuring Latinos like The George Lopez Show, which looks into the lives of Mexican-American families and Que Pasa USA, which depicts the lives of Cuban-American families.

“Undateable’s” Bill Lawrence and Adam Sztykiel will be producing the comedy “Vlad,” based on the true life of Dominican comedian Vladimir Caamano as he grew up and lives in the Bronx with his Dominican father and older brother. A graduate in drama from Wesleyan University, Caamano is a regular performer at New York’s The Stand Comedy Club. He was a finalist on NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity program and has been featured on AXS’s Gotham Comedy Live.
