The earth shook yesterday evening, Wednesday 25 November 2015 at around 8:38pm. The earthquake was felt from Punta Cana to the southwest coast. According to reports, it registered between 4.8 and 5.0 on the Richter Scale with its epicenter at a depth of 10km (6 miles) northeast of Palmar de Ocoa, in the south west of the country. A second shake measuring 4.9 was felt about an hour later, at 9:49pm, slightly more inland at 16 km from San Jose de Ocoa.
