A study by the Dominican Republic Industries Association (AIRD) has found that taxes are the main factor affecting Dominican competitiveness. This is followed by unfair competition and contraband, the cost of raw materials, the cost of energy, and competition from imported goods. The findings are from the quarterly survey carried out by the AIRD.
