The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has announced a green alert for floods in 10 provinces due to an approaching weather front from Haiti.
Those provinces under alert are Santo Domingo, National District, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana, El Seibo, La Altagracia (Higuey), Puerto Plata, Peravia (Bani), Hato Mayor and San Cristobal.
The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting thunderstorms and strong winds across the whole country and is urging the population to follow instructions from the Civil Defense organizations.
