The Long Night of Museums at Christmas takes place this Saturday, 12 December 2015 with a full program of events. The event, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture, commemorates the 25th anniversary of the declaration of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo as a UNESCO world heritage site.
The program includes a performance of Carmina Burana by the National Classical Ballet at the Fortaleza Santo Domingo at 8:30pm.
All museums in the area will be open and admission is free.
An opening concert will take place at 6:30pm at Plaza de Espana with a two-hour Christmas carol concert, “Celebremos Emmanuel,” by a 70-voice choir and 45 musicians directed by maestros Hector Santana and Elioenai Medina.
The museums and cultural centers taking part are: Museo de la Familia Dominicana, Casa de Tostado, Fortaleza de Santo Domingo, Museo Trampolin, Museo de las Casa Reales, Museo Alcazar de Colon, Centro Cultural de las Telecomunicaciones, Centro Cultural Banreservas, Centro Cultural de Espana and Casa de Teatro.
