IDB and Ministry of Culture join forces

The Ministry of Culture, represented by Minister Jose Antonio Rodriguez, says it is joining forces for a high-level meeting with representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to coordinate programs to develop tourism in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo.

The meeting at the Ministry of Culture yesterday, Wednesday, 9 December 2015 was attended by IDB country representative Flora Montealegre, the IDB’s Urban Cluster head Javier Leon, international consultant Alfredo Garay, and Belinda Perez, senior specialist in municipal and fiscal management for IDB.

The meeting, which concentrated on issues related to cultural tourism in the historic center of Santo Domingo, took place in a Conference Room at the Ministry of Culture. The Colonial City of Santo Domingo was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site twenty years ago.
