The Ministry of Education has clarified to parents with children in Catholic Church-run schools that not all Catholic schools will be providing free tuition to students.
Last week, the Ministry announced the signing of an agreement with the Conference of the Episcopate of the Roman Catholic Church in the Dominican Republic.
The executive secretary of the National Union of Catholic Schools (Unec), Reinaldo Infante told Diario Libre reporters that the agreement mainly benefits Catholic schools in low-income areas. Furthermore, it will only apply to schools whose directors are in favor of adhering to the agreement stipulations.
