The two teams from the Cibao, the Aguilas Cibaenas and the Gigantes del Cibao have been eliminated from the 2015-2016 Dominican Winter Baseball Championship. In the 2015-2014 season, the two teams from the capital city (Licey and Escogido) were eliminated, while in the 2014-2013 season, the two teams from the east (Estrellas and Toros) were eliminated. The Estrellas Orientales from San Pedro de Macoris won the regular season.
