The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has declared a green alert due to the high surf and strong winds along the entire Dominican coastline.
The COE is advising small and medium sized boat captains to stay in port as the waves are between seven and eight feet high near the coastline.
Seventy homes have been flooded in Rio San Juan municipality in the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua) due to recent rains when the San Juan River flooded the areas of Acapulco, Nueva York Chiquito, El Bronx and Buenos Aires.
