The Government Communications Office (DICOM) has begun the new year with what appears to be financial problems. Dicom is the press and advertising division of the Presidency.
As reported, Dicom is in arrears for around the last five months of 2015 in advertising on numerous radio and TV shows and digital and press media. When asked why they have not been paid, Dicom has only said that the payments are in process and that the suppliers should continue to check their bank accounts as the payments could appear at any time.
Last November, Dicom suspended ongoing contracts, stating that they were changing their guidelines.
Rumors in the corridors of power say that a lot of the money managed by Dicom is being controlled by a government employee who is a member of President Medina’s inner circle, and not Roberto Rodriguez Marchena, who heads Dicom.
