The Police says it has recovered the Samsung Galaxy S5 mobile phone that had been stolen from National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso. The mobile was recovered by the Police Central Agency for Criminal Investigations (Dicrim) inside a home in Palave, Manoguayabo on Wednesday, 30 December 2015.
The Police said that the phone had been taken to Mata Hambre in the National District, was turned off and when it was next used it was with the telephone number of a person whose address was Las Carolinas, Palave, home of Jose Altagracia Diaz Castillo, 44, and his wife Marleni Solano Montero, 38.
According to the Police, the couple said the phone had been purchased for RD$2,000 by their son, 22-year old Luis Manuel de Jesus Solano from his cousin 36-year old Santos Montero Aguero, a resident of Palave, and employee of a garbage collecting company.
When arrested Montero Aguero said he found the phone in a garbage can on Av. Jimenez Moya at the corner of Av. Jose Contreras in Mata Hambre when collecting garbage on Tuesday, 22 December 2015.
