Restrictions back on alcohol sales

Minister of Interior and Police Jose Ramon Fadul is reminding the public that the lifting of restrictions on the sales of alcohol ends at midnight this Friday, 8 January 2016. He warned that strict measures would be taken against any business that ignores the restrictions from that time.

The relaxation of the rules has been in place since 10 December 2014.

The law says that alcohol cannot be sold after midnight from Sunday through Thursday and after 2am on Friday and Saturday as a way of reducing violence on the streets.

In addition, Fadul warned that no minors were allowed in places where alcohol is sold, nor could they buy it and firearms are also prohibited in drinking establishments.
