With an 8-0 victory over the Leones del Escogido yesterday evening, Sunday 10 January 2015, the Tigres del Licey ensured their win of the round robin that ends on 17 January 2016. Licey had only lost its first game in the round robin played against the Leones del Escogido. The second place in the round robin is far from decided as the Toros, Aguilas and Estrellas all have chances of making it to the playoffs.
This will be the second playoff in the past three years for the Tigres del Licey that has won the local pennant on 22 occasions.
The winner of the playoffs will represent the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series that opens on 1 February 2016, to be played between the winning teams from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the host DR.
