Revisiting the work of Jose Antonio Caro Alvarez

Centro Cultural de Espana in the Colonial City in Santo Domingo is holding an exhibition on the work of architect Jose Antonio Caro Alvarez. He was the first rector of the UNPHU in 1966, after serving as dean of the engineering and architecture school of the UASD. His work as an architect included the design of the faculties of Medicine and Engineering and Architecture at the UASD, the La Altagracia Maternity Hospital, the Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital, the National Police HQ, Palacio de Bellas Artes y Cultos, Ministry of Education, former Central Bank headquarters, the National Library and the Museum of Dominican Man.

The exhibition opens on 25 January 2016.
