President Danilo Medina inaugurated a 176-apartment housing project in Cabral in the southwestern province of Barahona and a 16-classroom school on Monday, 11 January 2016. The President has declared 2016 as the Year of Housing Development with a pledge to boost government initiatives to provide homes for low-income families.
Provincial governor Pedro Pena Rubio gave the welcome address and thanked President Medina for fulfilling his promise to help people in the area.
The Antonio Silvio Felix primary school, in Cabral, will take 455 students for the extended school day.
