Minister of Sports Jaime David Fernandez has complained that the judiciary has been slow to act in response to the invasion of the La Barranquita sports grounds in Santiago. He said that two years ago, his department presented a detailed report on the irregular takeover of property on the former site of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Games.
Fernandez expressed regret at the failure to appoint a judge to hear the case of appropriation of public property as “a clear case of association with wrongdoers,” as reported in the 7 Dias online news site.
