The Eduardo Leon Jimenes Cultural Center in Santiago has appointed a new director, Colombian Carlos Uribe Uribe.
According to a press release, Uribe is a former head of the main cultural museum in Medellin, Colombia. A professional historian, administrator and curator, Uribe specializes in the arts.
At the time of his appointment, he was dean of the Visual Arts School at the Bellas Artes University Foundation in Medellin. He will relocate to Santiago to take up his new post.
Uribe replaces outgoing director Rafael Emilio Yunen who directed the center for over a decade.
