A recent Asisa poll reveals that the popularity of President Danilo Medina of the ruling PLD is at 54.8% compared to Luis Abinader of the PRM. The poll was carried out on 10 and 11 January 2016 and the results were released yesterday, Monday, 25 January, as reported in El Dia.
The other results are 3% for Guillermo Moreno of Alianza Pais, 0.5% for Amable Aristy Castro of the Partido Liberal Reformista and 0.2% for Pelegrin Castillo of the Fuerza Nacional Progresista.
Of the 1,204 polled, 56% would like to see changes in government, while 42% wants to maintain the current government. 2% did not respond.
Regarding party following, the PLD had the support of 54%, the PRM 31%, the PRD 5%, the PRSC 2% and Alianza Pais 1%.
