The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has announced the official opening of the political campaigning for election of President, Vice President, legislators and municipal officials in the 15 May 2016 general election. The campaign opening date is next Tuesday, 2 February at 7pm. A former President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon (2006-2012) will be attending the ceremony as a special guest.
The opening of the campaign allows political parties and their candidates several privileges granted by the Electoral Law.
